God is creating a new reality on earth…

i like this…

God is now creating a new reality on earth, a reality to come first among men but finally over all creation, so that the earth and the heavens are renewed.

God is creating something new.

A new history is starting.

A new world is coming to earth.

from a german dude called Blumhardt…

there’s a great bunch of free ebooks over at www.plough.com written by or about Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt.  i recommend to start with these two… awakening & thy kingdom come

When Blumhardt, a 19th-century pastor from the Black Forest, agreed to counsel a tormented woman in his parish, all hell broke loose – literally. But that was only the beginning of the drama that ensued.

…Beginning in the fall of 1841, Blumhardt was drawn into a spiritual struggle, which he referred to for the rest of his life as “the fight.” At first he tried to keep a cautious distance from it, but it soon became obvious that he would not be able to stay uninvolved.

Christians the world over pray “Thy kingdom come” daily, but do they know what they are asking for? These short selections will spark a burning expectation for this kingdom to break into this world, here and now.

Thanks for this post. It is invigorating and strengthens me this morning to push through. And thanks for the books suggestions and the link to the others. I shall most certainly make use of them. Shalom.

  2. Thanks so much for these book recommendations… I’m going to be checking them out.

“Christians the world over pray “Thy kingdom come” daily, but do they know what they are asking for?”

I think it may very well be that we don’t know what we’re asking for when we pray “Thy kingdom come.” I am reminded of Mark 10:35-40.

35 Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him. “Teacher,” they said, “we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”

36 “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked.

37 They replied, “Let one of us sit at your right and the other at your left in your glory.”

38 “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said. “Can you drink the cup I drink or be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with?”

    39 “We can,” they answered.

Jesus said to them, “You will drink the cup I drink and be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with, 40 but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared.”

James and John didn’t know what they were asking when they made this request of Jesus. Granted, they were asking for “their will,’ not God’s will as we ask for in the Lord’s prayer. But when we turn to God in prayer, it’s very often that we can’t begin to imagine how Our God will answer us. But He always does, and He always answers us in ways that are best for us — even when we can’t begin to imagine what that is.
