“I revealed myself…
to those who did not ask for me
I was found by those…
who did not seek me
To a nation that did not call on my name…
I said ‘Here am I, here am I’
via Isaiah 65:1
i have a crazy imagination. what if someone had committed to praying for & blessing an enthusiastic young man named adolf… or osama… or che. then maybe germany, or afghanistan, or cuba could have been different. the ‘gospel’ is just so amazingly audacious. god says..
who didn’t ask
HERE I AM!
have you noticed in the book of acts how god has a habit of choosing the WRONG people. saul… WRONG PERSON. ethopian eunuch… definitely the WRONG person. samaritans, cornelius, phillipian jailor… wrong, wrong, wrong. i could go on.
acts is like a massive treasure hunt. the way god ‘finds’ these ‘wrong’ people… some are chance encounters, like the ethopian eunuch. other’s are freaky encounters where ‘god stuff’ happens, like angels & earthquakes.
your city is a potential book of acts, like a blank sheet of paper. jc has already done the hard yards… there are WRONG people in your city waiting for you to reveal the favour of daddy god.
god says… HERE I AM
